So a long time ago in a galaxy far away there was a period of civil war……. Wrong story. Actually what had happened was, there was a time when we needed to bring someone on to help with Discovery. The choice was obvious not only because Shawn had already secured some of our best bookings, but because I had been a fan of his DJing since I saw him play a rap rave in Alibi more than 5 years ago. Now it is time for all of the fans of Discovery to get a chance to see him play the way that I did.

Discovery is all about DJ’s playing what they want and you dancing your ass off. Truth be told, we have been flying this ship by the seat of our pants for a while now. Luckily your support has put us on the radar of some amazing individuals. This time Mikey Perros, King’s booking agent and loyal DSCVRY supporter, got a message from Vitalic Noise about a great opportunity we never saw coming. So we got together and made it happen……

This month’s guest: SAMMY BANANAS (Fool’s Gold)

Rising Brooklyn remixer and party maestro Sammy Bananas lives up to his name by crafting ecstatic tracks that ditch trendy production tricks in favor of pure pop satisfaction. He’s already remixed the likes of Chromeo, Passion Pit, and Kid Cudi, and his Fool’s Gold EPs High Top Fades and Braids & Fades pay tribute to the biker-shorted divas of the 1990s, chopping up their r&b hits into uptempo club tracks. The approach has already made fans out of influential BBC DJ Annie Mac and platinum producer will.i.am, who ran up to the DJ booth at Sammy’s LA show to shout “YOU made this?!?”

Based in New Jersey, the 26 year old producer is not only one of the most in-demand ballroom DJs, but he also heads up his own Qween Beat team and turns out a steady stream of vogue and 
ballroom tracks, re-edits, and remixes.

Mission 009 - Fear of a Red Planet 

Discovery is all about DJ’s playing what they want and you dancing your ass off. Last month our guests showed up and tried to bass your faces off. Proudly you guys held strong and showed us Discovery folks are down to take what we can throw at em. So we are ramping up.

This month’s guest: BUCKMASTER

Cody Hare aka BUCKMASTER is a Charlotte resident and DJ/ Head Honcho of LE BANG, one of the most successful dance nights in the state. With beginnings as a band percussionist/drummer, he moved to DJing then remixes. After taking up the decks he hit the road and has played venues across the country. Since then his night Le Bang has hosted such acts as Jubilee, Dj Mike Q, Adulture, Samo SoundBoy, LOL Boys and Kingdom just to name a few. Consistently keeping the masses guessing Buckmaster creates a dance floor fit for anyone combining Footwork to Bass to Hood and even Hell R&B if he feels the need. His production runs the same gambit blending a multitude of genres. BuckMaster and his unpredictable track selection is going to make this another unforgettable DSCVRY.
